Is there a way to make in acting WITHOUT setting foot in Hollywood and avoiding fame?

I read about actresses who either had problems with stress in Hollywood which endangered their health like Pamela Sue Martin and actresses who got involved with drugs and alcohol like Sarah Holcomb and Amanda Peterson have decided that Hollywood and fame are not the ways to go. Can you be an actor WITHOUT setting foot in Hollywood or tackling fame?|||don't waste your time in irrational fears that most likely won't happen to you. everyone is an individual

and the people who have had problems would more than likely have had them no matter what they were doing. only a select few ever achieve any fame so that isn't something you should worry about.

just worry about getting training and experience and doing anything at all let alone getting any fame.

very few actors even make a living at acting. most have regular jobs to support themselves. act

because its your passion and dream first. whether you have any success or fame is secondary.

your choices if you want this as a serious career are NYC,LA. and you will find people who have problems in either place. so if you think your character is that weak or you can be led astray

easily then you need to try another line of work. people get stressed out and fall into trouble

in any line of work so this shouldn't' be a major worry for you. you do have a mind of your own, you know, you can always walk away or say no when those situations come up.|||lol off course you can, there is tons off theathres and movie makers all over the world, Hollywood is only the most well known hub for movie and tv making.

And most actors spent theyre lifetime without getting fame, even real good ones. As a matter off fact most actors have problems doing a deacent living with theyre income, so fameness is only for a "lucky" few. Johan.|||If what you really want to do is ACT, and not become a film star, then simply stick to the stage, and leave movies %26amp; TV alone.

There are live theatre productions everywhere, from Broadway down to the community theatre in your town. Start small. Volunteer at your local theatre, or audition there for a minor role. Take acting lessons on the side. Get some time on the stage and see if you like it. If you do, keep up the good work, and you'll get bigger parts on stage.|||How about Broadway?
