I bought Fredericks of Hollywood corsets online, and im wondering if anyone knows what the boneing is?

ok so i bought 'Ultimate Satin Corset' and 'New Hollywood WAist Cincher' and i kind of guessed that they won't be steel boned, but i was wondering if anyone knows what the quality of them are and how tight you can make them without looking ridiculous. They were between 25 and 70 $$ Canadian sooo anyone know/ bought them?|||Fredericks' corset are corset in name only, they are not a real corset.

This is not to bag them, they make some nice clothes. But the corset range is designed to look like a corset without the heavy construction required to cinch you in like a real corset. As such I would suspect that the boning is plastic and the stitching etc is designed to fit firmly, not tightly. This is confirmed by this quote from there website

"Our corsets are not designed to train your waist. Initially pulling too tightly can cause damage to the grommets in your corset."

If you want to get the cinched in effect from a real corset you will have to pay a lot more. the price range is $200 and up

Do not over tighten otherwise you will damage the garment. Just lace firmly.

|||bonding can be hard plastic or a type of metal. You can lace it however tight you want.

|||I've bought a few corsets from Fredericks, and the boning is usually some type of hard plastic. They are usually beautiful, but don't rely on them to cinch you in like a real corset would. And unless you have a big chest, you'll probably have to wear a bra underneath. I can tell you for a fact that's what the models do. I had a friend that worked there, and showed me how in some pictures they send to the store you can see the bra straps before they were photoshopped out.

I would recommend them only if it's for going out or fun with your lover. Not for special occasions.

I rate them, 3.5 out of 5. Mostly for looks.

If you are curious to see what they really look on a normal person send me an e-mail and I can take a pic real fast for you.
