Why is it a must to put kissing scenes in Hollywood movies?

In almost any type of movie made in Hollywood, you need at least one kiss scene. Why is that?|||Can't agree with the first answer. It's not only in Romantic films. I think it's a way to attract teenagers and perverts. They put the kiss scene in the trailer so people would go see the movie.|||how old are you? 5?

its romance DUH|||It has to do with human psychology. Kissing is a form of emotional expression that is universally understood by 90% of the world's human population. In a scene, the hero could tell the love interest that he loves her; or he could just kiss her and save us all a lot of time.

People understand kissing and expect the characters on the screen to be as complex and as real as they are. Seeing people kiss on screen helps form a bond between the character and the audience. It humanizes the characters.|||Maybe because kissing is such a norm in most people's lives, it is only smart to include it in movies? I mean, most movies show husbands and wives, boyfriends and girlfriends, one night stands, crushes, etc. Sure, sometimes a romance side-plot in a movie is unnecessary (like in Pearl Harbor) but it also attracts the younger woman to the movies. Plus, a little intimacy in movies attracts men to it more as well?
